A good book can inform, entertain and stimulate. A great book can challenge you to become a better person; it can reach inside you and make you feel that life's lessons to date are simply insufficient. THISis a GREAT book. The author takes us through a series of interviews, speeches and brief essays he has given over time in response to requests for lists (the best minds, the greatest thinkers, the absolute must-have books). However, not only does he take us through insightful choices and a seemingly unsubjective set of opinions, he also backs up his points of view with relevant data, a sound argument and compelling prose. The book would be of interest to parents interested in developing their own education so that they can become better teachers for their children. Equally it would be of great interest to professionals looking for energy and inspiration or even for students seeking a virtual mentor or guide. For any of these people, this is a must have on the bookshelf. In fact it will probably lead you to a further load of must-have books for your collection. Wonderful!
